You know that feeling of happiness and euphoria you get when you meet a good friend after a long time? The Basque people, living in the Pyrenees mountain region between France and Spain, have a word for it: aspaldiko (learn how to pronounce it here).

Aspaldiko literally translates as “long ago”. If you ever travel to the region, you’ll notice many restaurants being named after this word – because it’s fun to meet friends over a nice meal.
